Liquids

What are Liquids?

Liquid is one element of the three states of matter. Liquid can flow easily taking the shape of the container it is placed in but does no scatter and disperse to fill every gap of the container. It sustains reasonably a constant density. Having said that, Liquid has a specific volume, but does not have a definite shape. Liquids have certain forces that are cohesive; meaning sticky, forces that hold molecules together
Let us take water as an example, if you pour some water into a cup, it will surely fill up the base first and then filling up the rest of the cup where it takes the shape of the cup. The surface of the water in the cup is flat. But why is that?
Here is the answer for that! It is Gravity! Where gravity plays two major roles in that example, first it is the cause for filling the base first then it causes the flat surface of the water.
Examples at room temperature are water, vegetable oil, ethanol and much more…

Questions:

1. Give two examples of Liquids ?

2.What is Gravity ?

3.What are the other two states of matter?

  1. 1.[Wessam]: Water, Oil
    2. Wessam]: Is the force that keeps objects from flying
    3.Wessam]: Gassses, Solids
