Gases

What are Gases?

Resource:

Getting to our last state of matter, which is Gas! Gases are everywhere around us, the most important and obvious is the atmosphere, which the layer of gas that surrounds the Earth. Unlike solid and liquids, gases are random collection of atoms; molecules in gases are spread out and very energetic, moving around continuously. Thus, gases can fill out any size of container it is placed in.

Now let us do this simple exercise, take a balloon and blow it, you realize no matter what you shape you make with the balloon it will be filled with gas atoms evenly. Vapor is another word that is used for gases but usually it is used for the gases out of liquid. One important characteristic of gases is that if applied pressure on it can be compressed, such examples would be a can of soda or spray in a bottle.

Examples of Gases at room temperature are; carbon dioxide, Oxygen, and water vapor.

Questions:

1. Name some of the gases who are thinking of ?

2.Compare between the three states of matter in terms of molecules arrangmenet and hardness?

3.Do you think that gas molecules ate always distrubuted evenly in the atnosphere ?

1 comment:

  1. 1.[Wessam]: CO2, 02
2.[Wessam]: Gass molecules are far away from each other.
    3. Wessam]: NO
